Punditician

A place to rant about politics, the media, and especially the electorate. Much like alcohol, the electorate is both the cause of, and the solution to, all of America's problems.

Punditician's endorsement...

Well it's for Kerry, of course, the the real issue was to decide exactly what manner in which to give it. I certainly wasn't going to do anything whine-bitch-and-moan-y like Slate did, after all.

But then I found Rude Pundit's endorsement, which offered all I was looking for. Go Kerry! Strong, courageous, intelligent, curious, engaged, competent, well-intentioned. He's just what we need in a President right now.

Yes...

Courageous: Because shooting an unarmed, fleeing teenager in the back is the epitome of heroism. Unless, of course, you want to mention the bandaid-worthy wound that won him a Purple Heart.

Intelligent: Education does not equal sense. Do not be fooled by his long-winded, confusing speeches; they are merely empty campaign promises and nothing more.

Curious: It killed the cat; maybe it will get Kerry, too. Either way, I'm sure that the terrorists will be intimidated.

Competent: In what way? What exactly has he done in his decades of "experience" in the Senate that proves him "competent"? What useful things has he done at all?

Well-intentioned: Do I even need to mention that the road to hell is paved with good intentions? That Kerry's "intentions" are riddled with inaccurate facts and supposition (like the idea that he'll eventually be able to convince France and Germany to "come back to the table" regarding Iraq, even though they have vehemently stated twice that they will not)?

Yes... don't vote Kerry, because really, shouldn't the Democrats be able to do better than that?

Which of his *several* PHs are you referring to? LOL. But in any case, my lil Swiftboat-Liar-believer, you gotta love the way republicans support their troops. With such gusto, even.

"Intelligent: Education does not equal sense."

I don't recall ever saying, implying, or suggesting such an equivalence. But in any case, Kerry has both - gdub has neither.

"Do not be fooled by his long-winded, confusing speeches; they are merely empty campaign promises and nothing more."

I found nothing confusing about any of his speeches. I'm surprised you did. Acutally, given your anti-education stand above, I'm not. OTOH, maybe you're simply regurgitating a hackneyed republican talking point...

"Curious: It killed the cat; maybe it will get Kerry, too. Either way, I'm sure that the terrorists will be intimidated."

Hm. Not much I can retort to this one. I think it's a virtue that our President be interested in, and receptive to, actual facts. You think it's a vice. There you go. I fail to understand, however, how Nader voters can say-with-straight-face that there's no difference between the candidates.

"Competent: In what way? What exactly has he done in his decades of "experience" in the Senate that proves him "competent"? What useful things has he done at all?"

Wow - you weren't kidding about curiosity being a vice, were you. This question was answered in the link in the post to which you gave your critical comment.

"Well-intentioned: Do I even need to mention that the road to hell is paved with good intentions?"

No, you don't need to, and it's not even relevant, but it's a free blog, so go ahead.

"That Kerry's "intentions" are riddled with inaccurate facts"

There's no such thing as inaccurate facts. Hence Kerry's " "intentions" " cannot be riddled with them.

"and supposition (like the idea that he'll eventually be able to convince France and Germany to "come back to the table" regarding Iraq, even though they have vehemently stated twice that they will not)?"

There's been a thawing in the ice on this score - at least on Germany's part. I've blogged it, if you're curious. LOL.
